Custom Fit: A custom fit holster from Alien Gear Holsters will be a holster that has been custom molded to a specific pistol and/or optic and/or light/laser combination. This means that we have a mold created custom to fit that specific pistol with or without a specific combo of specific optics and/or light/laser attachments. If we do not show an option that fits ALL of the options you run on your rig specifically, we likely will not have a holster that fits for your needs.
Custom Order: A custom order is asking us to build a one off or "spot order" outside of what we offer on our current "Search by Gun" list. We would not be able to offer this service. Our R&D team do extensive research to ensure that holstering, drawing and carrying from the shell we create can be done so safely, efficiently and comfortably.
"Well couldn't you just take my gun and use it for the mold?" The answer to this question is no and here is why: When we mold a shell it requires the pistol or a mold the pistol, it also requires a frame and a cut file. Creating a mold from the "live" pistol can subject it to extreme heats and we do not want to risk any harm to a customers firearm. When we create a mold from a live pistol, the whole firearm gets completely submersed in silicone. This silicone gets inside the inner workings of the pistol. In some of these instances we use non functional pistols but for the live guns we run the risk of them never being 100% clean and functional again. This is not a message we want to have to deliver to one our customers so we will not offer this as an option.
"What if I sent you a "blue gun" to mold?" (A non functioning, plastic replica of a pistol, sometimes with specific lights/lasers/optics also included in the mold) The answer to this question is still "no" and here is why: We learned our lesson early to use blue guns as molds for shaping Bolteron shells. The molds we make are a much harder polymer than the blue gun material. Blue Guns are designed for safe training not for molding. They can warp, shrink or expand under different heat and conditions. This puts the shell at risk to not fit the actual firearm.
