The Multi-Holster Adapter is designed to increase the versatility of our Rapid Force product line by enabling holsters from other companies or our own holsters from different series to use Rapid Force carry methods using the Rapid Force Quick Disconnect System (QDS).
The Multi-Holster Adapter only comes with the hardware needed to direct mount the Adapter to a Rapid Force carry expansion without a QDS. Most holsters on the market can have the Multi-Holster Adapter attached with the hardware included with the holster. Some holsters, such as standard Blackhawk holsters, may require a trip to the hardware store.
Within our own series of holsters, the Multi-Holster Adapter is compatible with Photon, ShapeShift and Cloak Mod options with some special considerations. These options do not allow for a quick conversion back to the original configuration. Using the Multi-Holster Adapter does allow for quick changeovers to any Rapid Force carry method with QDS.

Photon
Photon Holsters can easily be adapted to Rapid Force carry types with the Multi-Holster Adapter using the existing Photon hardware. Optic options may require a specific ride height or cant. Much of this will depend on draw preference, gun size and optic size.
Photon will use the .25" screws and the square weld nuts. If easier, you may take all 4 screws out of the Photon Shell and work with just half the shell to attach the Multi-Holster Adapter and then reassemble the shell halves.
It is helpful to not overtighten the screws until the cant and ride height are established. When satisfied with the configuration, use a drop of medium retention threadlocker on the screws.
Most optics should work with the Multi-Holster Adapter excluding forward facing lens optics that do not fit in Photon holsters. Most cants and ride heights should work but that is heavily dependant on firearm and draw preference.
ShapeShift
ShapeShift Shells are compatible with the Multi-Holster Adapter if the thumb release is removed. The only way the thumb release may be compatible is as a negative cant on some firearms. The thumb release mechanism must not touch the Multi-Holster Adapter which will interfere with the operation.
To mount the Multi-Holster Adapter to the ShapeShift Shell, first slide the shell halves apart after removing the Twist Locks. From the inside of the shell, remove the thumb release and the Rotating Adapter. Click here for more instructions on shifting your ShiftShell.
The screws from the Rotating Adapter can be used to mount the Multi Holster Adapter. The hex nuts are a little more difficult to work with but can be used in conjunction with pliers. If the Paddle Holster or Core Carry Pack configurations were initially ordered, the square weld nuts work best. Our thread pitch is 8/32 if alternate nuts are desired. If using different hardware altogether, ensure that the screw heads will sit in the recess of the screw holes of the shell and are not protruding as that will cause damage to the firearm.
The square weld nuts can work in any of the slots for ride height and cant adjustments. Add medium retention thread locker to the screws once the adjustments are made. Reassemble the Shift Shell halves and secure with the Twist Locks.
Cloak Mod
The Cloak Mod Paddle Holster, Cloak Mod MOLLE Holster or Cloak Mod Paddle Holster Base (without a Cloak Shell) can be used with the Multi-Holster Adapter. The forward and reverse cants will work, as well as neutral. For disassembly instructions for Cloak Mod, click here. Be advised that the exact parts will not match due to inline changes over time. Use caution when handling the membrane and spring steel core- the metal is sharp!
The square weld nuts included on Cloak Mod products can be used but button head or cap screws will work best. The thread pitch on our hardware is 8/32.
Once the Multi-Holster Adapter is attached to the Cloak Mod Backer, the rest of the holster can be re-assembled.
