Our Rapid Force Duty Holsters have up to three levels of retention!
1st Level of Retention:
The 1st level of retention in our works by putting pressure on the slide of the firearm and it can be adjusted using the included Allen key. The holster shells will have the visible adjustment hex screw, as well as the retention indicator. This is the Passive Retention.
2nd Level of Retention:
The second level of retention on these holsters utilizes a catch that catches the ejection port of the firearm to hold it in the holster. This is released by the thumb swipe on the back of the holster and is the first level of Active Retention.
3rd Level of Retention:
At present, the 3rd level of retention is optional but required for the optic hood.
The 3rd level of retention is a back strap that is released by a push button. The push button is placed so that the thumb swipe can be operated in the same motion. This is the second level of Active Retention.
How To Adjust Your 1st Level of Retention
You will need the included Allen key to make adjustments on the muzzle end of your holster. Depending on what firearm you have this may be located in a slightly different spot.
You can use the indicator to gauge the retention on the firearm. More bars for more retention.
