Cloak Series OWB Differences

Alien Gear Holsters offers two different outside the waistband (OWB) holster options in our Cloak Series. Below we will go into further detail on these options.

Cloak Belt Holster 

The Alien Gear Cloak Belt Holster is a hybrid holster that is carried outside the waistband, but enables easy concealment if desired or open carry if you prefer and it carries in unbelievable comfort. This is partially due to the wide stance that diffuses the weight of the pistol and holster outward vs downward like more narrow holster options. 

The holster base has belt loops on the back, in either 1.5" or 1.75" belt widths depending on which belt you normally use. This puts the Cloak Belt holster up high and tight to the body making concealment incredibly easy, with as little as an untucked shirt being needed for complete cover. The belt loops are static meaning they are not adjustable for cant. 

The holster base is reinforced with layers of woven ballistic nylon and spring steel. This gives the holster a firm but flexible core, supporting the pistol but also flexing to fit your shape with little to no break in time.  The combat cut gives you a fast and full firing grip, and allows you to guide the muzzle of your pistol into the holster. 

The custom-molded retention shell is adjustable for passive retention, giving you the secure fit and sure draw needed from any Every Day Carry (EDC) holster. You can even dial in the retention profile with the mounting hardware, and customize the retention with the included Parts Pack.

The Alien Gear Cloak Belt Holster is made in the USA, and we back this product with our Iron-Clad Guarantee. This includes a 30-day Test Drive return policy and our Forever Warranty. If you trade in your gun for a new one, we'll even trade retention shells with you so you can keep using the holster base. Keep in mind that shell swaps will only work with same handed and same platform options. This means that revolver shells will not fit on the semi-auto bases and vise versa.

Cloak Mod for Open Carry

The Cloak Mod’s exceptional strength begins at its core with a spring-steel flex plate. This layer provides strength and support.

Our engineers have also added a thermo-elastomer retention membrane, a durable material that rests between your gun and the steel flex plate. When holstering your firearm, this thick layer of thermo-elastomer snaps your gun into place and retains it once it’s there.

You’ll also find that with its open-mouthed design, the muzzle of your gun will find a perfect access point to the rest of the gun holster.

The curved holster paddle has been built to withstand a wide array of daily hardships. We have added a retainment lip to the inside of the paddle, which protects carriers from attackers looking to unhook their paddle holster. Rest assured, safety will always stay at your side with our state-of-the-art retention system.

As a carrier, you will be able to adjust the cant/angle and as well as retention. This can be achieved by following our comprehensive set of instructions provided with your order.

To set us apart even further from other outside the waistband holsters, the Cloak Mod has the ability to become a belt slide holster, which can then be attached to your belt. If you prefer wearing the outside the waistband holster through your belt loop as opposed to wearing the paddle backer. Just swap out the paddle component and replace it with the belt slide that came with the order. The belt slide attachment has a choice of 1.5 or 1.75 belt widths. 

Please be advised that some of the larger light bearing holster options may not be available for this holster, as the light adversely effects retention.
