Our Cloak Mag carriers are some of the most, if not the most, innovative and dynamic mag carriers on the planet; any planet. The issue with out of this world technology is that sometimes it can be a little tricky to unlock all of its features. In this article we will go over how to adjust the magazine retention and where/how to access the on board 1/16 allen key.
Retention is how tight/securely the holster grips what it is designed to hold, in this case magazines.
- This first step is only if your Cloak Mag Carrier has a neoprene base attached. Our Cloak mag carrier has been sold with a neoprene backer that clips onto the mag bucket. We also have sold them without this backer. For those without the backer skip to step 2. To detach the mag bucket from the backer, push the mounting bracket outward, then pull the bucket away from backer.
- Ensure the slide lock, located on the side of the mag bucket opposite of the green sticker, is in the unlocked position (See illustration below). You will know it is disengaged when it runs horizontal with the bucket and the button slide plate on the back of the mag bucket can be pushed from left to right freely. Push the button slide as far as it will go to the right. If a clip is still attached to the back remove it now.
3. With the button slide pressed all the way to the right, the allen key should be exposed along the edge of the mag bucket. While holding the button slide to the right pry the allen key up and out of its storage area.
4. Use the provided allen key to adjust the three screws located on the "face" of the mag bucket with the Alien Gear logo on it. Adjust to desired retention to your preference. Your magazine should slide in and out with slight resistance.
